There are certain policies that A Small Victory must comply to as set by our board and laid out in our by-laws. Some important policies to note are:
• A Small Victory programs are limited to persons who experience (past, present or future) miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death. Women choosing abortion, medical termination and adoption are ineligible. There is a package for termination/abortion and infertility in the planning process, estimated time frame for these packages to be available is 2012.
• CARE (Compassionately Alleviating Regret Everyday) Packages are only available to women that are currently pregnant and know they are going to lose their baby or have already lost a baby but cremation or burial have not taken place yet.
• afterCARE Packages are made available to families who have experienced a loss within the last six (6) months. Forever Packages are for families who have lost a child longer than 6 months ago or have lost an older infant. Miscarriage Packages are for losses that occur during the first trimester. All of these packages are available for purchase at cost.
• Donors can host a fundraiser for A Small Victory and funds raised will go towards bringing A Small Victory’s CARE Packages to the hospital of the donors choosing. A Small Victory asks for a three hundred dollar ($300) minimum. It doesn't have to be a lump sum and can be accumulated over time. A Small Victory must be made aware of the donor-advised funds before the actual fundraising event takes place.
