Aaron and Autumn received one of A Small Victory’s CARE Packages while they were still pregnant with their son AJ. AJ had Trisomy 18 and they knew he would not survive. Following AJ’s death, Autumn wrote to A Small Victory:

“Because of A Small Victory we have so many memories that we wouldn't of otherwise had. AJ’s clay footprint is sitting on Aaron and my dresser and we look at it everyday. It's an awesome reminder that AJ was here. The books that were included were a big help as well. Many of them Aaron and I read during pregnancy to prepare for our loss and that helped tremendously, as well as all the pamphlets that were provided. Especially the pamphlet for family and friends. It was a comfort to know that someone else has been there and cares. The Loss Kit helped me to know that I wasn't alone, and that everyone at A Small Victory knew that our son's life,no matter how short his life was, mattered. A Small Victory helped us to be forthright with the doctors and nurses. A Small Victory also gave us confidence to do what we needed to do with our precious son without worry of harsh or critical judgement from the medical community.”

This is exactly what A Small Victory hopes to accomplish.

A Small Victory would like to extend a special thank you to those who have pledged monthly contributions to aid families going through the worse possible loss. By making these monthly donations you are insuring the support to many people.
We’d like to acknowledge Kimber Jones who has been especially generous by pledging to sponsor 12 CARE Packages over the next year.
If you are interested in setting up a monthly donation please email us or donate online.
On May 2nd, 2009, A Small Victory will be hosting “Seeds of Hope” Benefit Wine Tasting, Dinner and Auction. We are in the process of obtaining goods and services to be available for the silent and live auctions. All monies raised will go towards providing Loss Kits for families that have suffered the loss of a child.
Please help by donating to this event. Here a just some ideas of things that you can do:

Donation of items from your business, hobby or craft
Services (tax preparation, massage, chiropractic, tanning, lawn care, house cleaning)
Lessons (piano, voice, tae kwon do)
Memberships (health club, museum, zoo)
Gift Certificates
Trips or Airline Tickets

Some other ideas that have been suggested:

Build a themed gift basket
Offer to captain an excursion on your boat
Offer your vacation home for a weekend getaway

The ideas and possibilities are endless. Again, the auction is set for May of 2009. While it is a year away the sooner we get the items the better.
Remember, you might not be able to contribute at this time but, you can help by asking your friends, family or co-workers if there is anything they might be able to donate.
