If you are looking for a unique way to support A Small Victory please consider hosting a fundraising event in our honor. There are many options such as a BBQ, sit down dinner or even a letter-writing campaign.
We have plans to bring A Small Victory nationally to every hospital but, unfortunately, we do not have the means to do so yet. We do have a fundraising program which would be a wonderful way for you to become involved.
This is your chance to be creative as you have the chance to do almost any kind of fundraiser that you are interested in and A Small Victory, our board and volunteers will be here to support you with any help or advice that you may need. Some great fundraising ideas are to have a party at your house and put out "tip jars”, do a bake sale through your church, have a penny drive at your community center, a pledge drive, etc. The two types of fundraisers that seem to really work well are:
Letter-Writing Campaign: write a letter (one page or less) to family and friends about A Small Victory, your loss (if applicable). Tell your friends and family what you think is wonderful about A Small Victory and why you think it deserves their support.
Home Event: Invite friends, family or co-workers to your dinner party or picnic or BBQ and clearly state that it is to benefit A Small Victory. Open your house to guests and make sure they have a great time. During the height of the festivities, make a little announcement about what A Small Victory does and invite them to contribute in they feel compelled to. Provide informational pamphlets and envelopes for contributions to be made private.
If you, or your family, are ever interested in doing any of these, just let us know, we are totally happy to help. A Small Victory can help with organization, invitations/flyers. If you are located in the Washington are, it may even be possible to have Liz Allen attend to talk to the guests and have a CARE Package on display.
Fundraising Kits are available. For more information, please contact Donor Relations.
