What does CARE Package stand for?
CARE stands for Compassionately Alleviating Regret Everyday which is A Small Victory's key mission.
How can I request a CARE Package for someone I know?
At this time, CARE Packages are only intended for use at hospitals and other birthing facilities.
Can only hospitals in Washington receive A Small Victory CARE Packages?
No, no matter where you live, if you'd like to see CARE Packages at your hospital, it is possible. Please read the next FAQ to discover how you can bring A Small Victory's CARE Package Prenatal Loss Bereavement Program to your hospital.
How can we get A Small Victory's CARE Packages in our hospital?

Whether you lost a baby at your local hospital or you just think it's something your area needs, you can make it happen! All you need to do is have a fundraiser and raise the money. All donations are tax deductible and it can be something really fun. Some groups have done multiple parties through out the year (holiday party, summer BBQ, etc.) and simply asked for donations during the party. We ask for a minimum of $300 which would provide three complete CARE Packages to your chosen hospital. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in please email CEO Liz Allen for further details.
Also, when making an online donation, you can designate how you would like your contribution to be spent. Just type in your name or hospital into the “designation” box when donating.
Either way, your fundraising effort does not need to be raised in one lump sum. Your money will be saved for one year (12 months) - raising $25 a month for a year would achieve your goal.
Providers please email Liz Allen to discuss your options.

Why are CARE Packages only for new losses?
A Small Victory feels that our CARE Packages currently best serve the newly bereaved. Many of the items in our CARE Packages are items that can only be used before burial or cremation.
Why are CARE Packages only offered for the "first few months of life" and not older infants and children?
Anytime a child died the parents are in shock and completely lost. Fortunately, there are many people to help you through a loss of an older child. Hospital staff and clergy people are extremely skilled at doing so. Also, because time was spent with the child, even if it was just a year, there are many memories to look back on and tangible items to hold. With pregnancy loss or a death so soon after birth, generally the only memories of our children are when they have already died or are dying. Parent often have little help through the only hours they have with their children, this is why we supply CARE Packages to them as soon as we can, with the goal to gently guide them through their grief.
How is my donation spent?
