Do I pay for a Loss Kit?
Loss Kits are free to all recently bereaved families but because we are a non-profit and we rely totally on the public's generosity, we generally appreciate a donation with the request though you are not obligated to do so.
How can I request a Loss Kit for someone I know?
Please fill out the kit request form and someone will be in contact with you shortly.
Can I request a Loss Kit for myself?
A Small Victory understands that, at times, you are your only support and there may not be someone else there to request a kit for you. Therefore, you can request a kit for yourself by filling out the request kit form. Someone will contact you shortly after your form is received.
Can only families and hospitals in Washington receive A Small Victory Loss Kits?
No, no matter where you live, if you or someone you know would like a Kit, it is possible. Further, please read the next FAQ to discover how you can bring A Small Victory Loss Kits to your hospital.
How can we get A Small Victory's Loss Kits in our hospital?

Whether you lost a baby at your local hospital or you just think it's something your area needs, you can make it happen! All you need to do is have a fundraiser and raise the money. All donations are tax deductible and it can be something really fun. Some groups have done multiple parties through out the year (holiday party, summer BBQ, etc.) and simply asked for donations during the party. We ask for a minimum of $300 which would provide three complete Loss Kits to your chosen hospital. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in please email me for further details.
Also, when making an online donation, you can designate how you would like your contribution to be spent. Just type in your name or hospital into the “designation” box when donating.
Either way, your fundraising effort does not need to be raised in one lump sum. Your money will be saved for one year (12 months) - raising $25 a month for a year would achieve your goal.
Providers please email Liz Allen to discuss your options.

Why are Loss Kits only for losses within the past 6 months?
A Small Victory feels that our Loss Kits currently best serve the newly bereaved. Many of the items in our kits are items that you might already have. A Small Victory would still like to help guide you through your loss, no matter when it happened, please visit our “Losses Past Six Months” page. Once our budget allows, we will be providing Forever Kits to any bereaved parent, regardless of timeframe, baby's age or cause of death.
Why are Loss Kits only offered for the "first few months of life" and not older infants and children?
Anytime a child died the parents are in shock and completely lost. Fortunately, there are many people to help you through a loss of an older child. Hospital staff and clergy people are extremely skilled at doing so. Also, because time was spent with the child, even if it was just a year, there are many memories to look back on and tangible items to hold. With pregnancy loss or a death so soon after birth, generally the only memories of our children are when they have already died or are dying. Parent often have little help through the only hours they have with their children, this is why we supply kits to them as soon as we can, with the goal to gently guide them through their grief.
How is my donation spent?
