A Small Victory is hosting a candlelight memorial service Saturday December 13th, from 5:30P-8:00P at Mercer Island Covenant Church (weather permitting).
3200 78th Ave SE
Mercer Island, WA 98040
This service is an opportunity for anyone to honor a lost loved one - no matter the age, cause or relation - those who are missing a child, mother, grandfather, brother, cousin, friend, etc - they are all invited to attend. The Holidays can be a particularly difficult time for those grieving, and A Small Victory would like to host a night to remember those who have passed on.
Those might benefit from this opportunity and would like to be a part of this memorial service are asked to please join us and bring a photo or memento in remembrance of their loved one. Poems are welcomed as well.
There will be a short service, and then a time for reflection and refreshments.
A Small Victory is a Puget Sound based nonprofit which improves upon or establishes effective perinatal loss bereavement programs with hospitals and other birth professionals. Through informal surveys, A Small Victory has found that parents who have be helped by our bereavement programs, which are currently operating in five hospitals in the Puget Sound area, have a lower incidence of divorce and have a higher return to work rate (after their loss). Grieving parents also state that they are better able to cope with life's stresses after receiving our infant remembrance packages.
A Small Victory hopes to spread to several more hospitals in Washington and possibly other states in 2009.
A Small Victory provides support to all grieving parents without regard to race, religion, income or sexual orientation. Volunteer opportunities are available.
