RICHLAND - A family grief-stricken with the loss of their own baby is now helping other parents create memories for those who have lost newborns.
The non-profit organization "A Small Victory" gives parents "Loss kits" to help remember the babies they barely knew. The kit includes keepsake hats and booties, cards to put footprints and journals.
Covington local Liz Allen started the company in memory of her daughter, Janell Victory. Allen said she never had a chance to dress her baby, giver her a funeral, or even unwrap the blanket that held her.
"We have a lot of guilt and regret looking back at our own loss and we don't want any other parent to feel like that," said A Small Victory Founder Liz Allen.
The company donates to hospitals in the Puget Sound and anyone throughout the country who's lost a newborn.
